Jackie

Jackie is part of the Souveraines collection and honors women raised with the injunction of appearances, beautiful but voiceless – “Be beautiful and shut up.” In the 1950s, many women were educated to be perfect wives: discreet, elegant, invisible. Yet, beneath this image shaped by society, a latent force was waiting for its moment.

This portrait captures the turning point when emancipation became a necessity, when submission was no longer acceptable, and when women found solidarity in groups that arose to resist societal expectations, leading to the first feminist movements.

This piece is part of the Souveraines Collection, an invitation to reflect on the power, resilience, and universal beauty of women.

My creation is knife-painted in oil, inspired from expressionism, Mexican muralism and a touch of Pop Art.
